Customer Reviews

This sort of thing makes buying music worthwhile.

Karma Ghost is not an over-engineered, glitzy, talent-free band churning forth music written by some 'professional' composer who's never held a guitar a day in his life and performed by a group of actors whose only dedication to the music is the fact that they get paid. Instead, this is a labor of love by dedicated and talented individuals. Real laughter and tears went into the writing of these songs; mirth and pain into the performances. Every song has a story, and the band members are more than happy to share them. This is an introductory album, but it doesn't feel like it. There is a synergy between the instruments and the vocals that shines through - and would not come through, perhaps, if the album were engineered and auto-tuned and tweaked into a plastic-wrapped shell of music. It sounds like Karma Ghost is sitting in your car with you, playing music - only, having heard them live, it's unfair to make that comparison; however fun they are to listen to from the studio, the energy and dedication they give off on stage makes it ten times more enjoyable. Buy a copy, play it for your friends, write them a note to say hello - and find out when their next show is! If you happen to be in the right place at the right time - currently Denver, Colorado - it's a fun-filled time you don't want to miss.

Great rock record

For a completely independent record, the production is clear and professional, but more importantly, the music is great riff-based rock with meaningful lyrics and some catchy melodies. I can picture this being played by some college kid on a bike, or in a garage with people lounging around on couches on a warm summer evening listening to their friends' band play, or on a long bus ride home after seeing your boyfriend/girlfriend for all too short a time. That kind of common-man rock you put on as background music to some life experience, to put you in a mood, or express one you're already in. Catchy, down-to-earth songs that stick in your head. Worth checking out.

Rising Stars

If you are anything like me when you listen to music, one of your biggest concerns is the value and depth of the lyrics and the originality. This record has all of that and then some. If you have a soul that longs for an open freeway on a summer day, windows rolled down and music that floods all of your senses this is definately the way to go. From music that pulls at the inner workings of what heart break and pain truly is, all the way to a sweetness of a melody that can even make the cynic in you smile. I see this group going places and I applaude their accomplishments every step of the way. They'll conquer the music world and show others that music isn't about auto tune and lip syncing.
