Album Review

Anybody Out There? is Burlap to Cashmere's first full-length release, following Live at the Bitter End. Anybody Out There? is difficult to pigeonhole. The percussion is innovative, the guitar work outstanding. Sometimes considered the bad boys of Christian music, their lyrics are alternately poignant, passionate, light hearted, and always original. "Digee Dime," their signature song, is contagiously fun. "Eileen's Song" is soft and sweet, and "Basic Instructions," their Dove Award-nominated song, has point-blank lyrics with a Latin feel. The album slows a bit with the last few numbers, but overall, Anybody Out There? is one of the best alternative CCM albums of the '90s.

A Golden Classic

Like the others have said, this album is amazing. Burlap to Cashmere was a group of virtuoso players, an unbelievable lyricist, and a chemistry that was palpable. I had the privilege of seeing them live and to this day it was the greatest concert I've seen. Not flashy or showy, but down-right GOOD. It's great to see that this album is still available. It's a classic. For more, check out their lead singer's solo project: "Steven Delopoulos - Me Died Blue", which is also available on iTunes. A FABULOUS album in its own right.

I love this album

This music is incredibly moving. The guitarist is so talented and the harmonies are wonderful- I would recommend this to anyone with ears!

They were such an amazing group

I love this album!!!! From beginning to end it is a journey of emotional heartfelt songs. The lyrics are beatifully written, and the musical performances are outstanding I really wish they hadn't broken up after the release of just one cd! But if you are only gonna release one this is a very good one to do it with. I highly recomend this album even if you don't care for "christian" music. This is a fine display of musical talent worth listening to regardless.
