iTunes Review

Randy Houser’s debut introduced a man who never does anything halfway. When he rips into a rough-edged rocker such as the workingman’s howl “Boots On,” he puts his all into it. Taking a long, hard look at the state of the world with “Back to God,” Houser throws every ounce of soul into an impassioned, power-ballad plea for piety. And when he lays out his mission statement over greasy, bluesy riffs on the steamy “My Kinda Country” (“Little bit of Waylon, whole lot of Motown”), the agenda’s tough to deny.

Fine debut

I hope Randy becomes a big star, because his music is much closer to "real" country than 80% of what's on the radio these days. I'd rank this as the 2nd best commercial country album of the year behind Jamey Johnson's instant classic. This is a great debut though, showing a ton of promise. The only throwaway song, IMO, is Wild Wild West. Everything else is top notch material. "Anything Goes" is one of the best songs of the year and "I'll Sleep" is extemely moving even though you know how it's gonna end from the first chorus. Nice work, badonkadonk boy (he cowrote that song)!

A credit to Mississippi

Saw him live in Gulf Shores... Great album... He will be big...

CMA's 2009 Get Ready!

Of all the music I've heard this year...this one tops them all. Your New Artist of the Year is on his way. What a Voice!
