Grime Wave

Grime Wave

Having survived label disputes and a long-simmering beef with Dizzee Rascal, grime originator Richard Cowie looks inward on this rugged fourth album. Not that Grime Wave—from the distorted Flamenco of the titular opening track onwards—is in any sense a work of sombre introspection. “Local Lad” spits flames in the name of LDNl, and “Fire Ain’t Burning No More” is a monument to Wiley’s mastery of space-age production and dextrous bars.
