Somewhere between Choro and Manouche you'll find Tim Connell (mandolin & bandolim) and Mike Burdette (guitar) playing music that will make you want to get up and samba. It doesn't hurt at all that these guys can flat out play, either. So if you're dance-impaired like me, you will also be able to appreciate the skill and tone evident on this album. Vignettes is in heavy rotation in my car stereo, and it makes hour-long commutes zip by.
Beautiful, confident, and energetic. Every track is solid. I recommend this to everybody. As a friend of mine said, "they are a perfect pairing for every activity...driving, working, leisure, anything." The only thing I can't do while listening to Rio Con Brio is sleep, as they make me feel so vibrant and ready to seize the day.
