Diplo isn't just a DJ/producer. He's the center of his own EDM empire, discovering and fostering new talent and ginning up an ever-growing number of projects, from Las Vegas residencies to his collaboration with Skrillex, Jack U. That he's recruited superstar Pharrell Williams to rap on the kinetic single "Aerosol Can" should come as no surprise. What might, though, is hearing Pharrell impersonating reggae legend Eek-a-Mouse on the track, but then we've come to expect the unexpected from Major Lazer. Like seemingly everything Diplo touches, "Aerosol Can" is quizzically addictive, its percussion clickety-clacking its way into your head. Similarly bombastic is "Come on to Me," with its vaguely Bollywood rhythms complemented by dancehall lothario Sean Paul's slippery vocals. And for one of the most delightfully disorienting dance music experiences going, there's "Sound Bang," which switches back and forth between happy-go-lucky Caribbean rhythms and ecstatically high-BPM bass assaults. Unexpected indeed.
Some dancehall, some rap, some spanish, some classic major lazer this album is fresh and original. Love it.
Too much n word
Come on I know people gotta use the n word but every other bar is just a little much. great beats but struggling on lyrics thus the n word every five seconds.
They never cease to amaze me! Everyone buy this album, you won't be disappointed!
