great

How ironic is it that the best Polka Album in many a year comes out just after the Grammy's decided to abolish their Polka category. I am leaving the question mark off the end of the last sentence as the question itself is really just rhetorical. This album is full of fun but has a serious amount of talented musicians including Canadian violinist and iTunes Classical chart topper, Lara St. John. You would think this would be something of a departure for Ms. St. John but she and all the other musicians seem to be in their element. I hear the "crossover" word being bandied about but in this case, it's not. This album is the genuine article. Listen out for Ludwig van Polka. A little number that may have Herr Beethoven turning in his grave but considering the fugue section in the last movement of his 9th Symphony was taken from a pagan dance that was prevalent in Prussia at the time, it is a fitting tribute.

Most fun album ever

I don't think I have ever laughed or smiled so much listening to an album - this is just a great, alive, insanely funny yet fantastic record - I love it, and so do my kids - we've now listened 6 times and can't help but dance around the room. I have no idea how these guys came up with all these different ideas - every track is superb. I'm going to tell all my friends about it.

What's not to love?

A pal sent me a link to this album - normally I'm not a polka fan but the album name was intriguing enough to try some of the songs. I have to say the songs are lovely - and brought huge smiles to my daughter's face - so we bought the album. Who says Polka is dead?
