Rock n' roll...girl style!

My first introduction to Grace was at the XPoNential Music Festival, at the recommendation of a friend and I was pretty impressed - the gal can rock out. Think modern day Bonnie Raitt, with lots of sass. Versatile musician, switching up from guitar to the Hammond B3, packing a bluesy, soulful voice. Her band is amazing too (and if you see them live, beg them to do the cool drum solo!). "Big White Gate" is an amazing song, straight out of the backwater bayou and by far my favorite on the CD, but "Ah Mary" and "Lose Some Time" are just as stunning. Modern day rock songs like "Mastermind" and "If I Was From Paris" (a less-angry Ani DiFranco type song) will keep you alternately toe-tappin' or dancing around the room. A solid purchase for $8 and a promising sophomore effort from a young rock-ette.

If you haven't heard of this crew yet, consider yourself officially informed...they CRUSH it! Start to finish, this is an album that will have you tapping your feet, banging the table, and singing along. Catch them while you can in the smaller venues, because a year from now you will be sitting in the back of some stadium wishing you had been able to catch em up close.!

I wish there were more stars

I dont think I can even begin to to tell you guys about this album you would have to buy it and see for yourself.

She met drummer Matt Burr at an open-mike session while both were attending St. Lawrence University in upstate New York in 2002, and the two formed Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. The band, by then a trio with the addition of Scott Tournet on guitar,...
