Album Review

Nostalgia is a group project for Mathias Grassow and Rudiger Gleisberg. Their debut, Arcana Publicata Vilescunt, also features guest performances by Jim Cole (overtone vocals), Carsten Agthe (percussion and didgeridoo), and Regina Heinrichs (vocals). This is a different kind of effort for Grassow and Gleisberg. The disc starts with some rhythmic ambience and threatens to become techno or prog rock. The rhythm stays and the surroundings change. Cole's vocals kick in and — bang! — this is ambient with movement and rhythm. The entire disc is much more active than what folks expect from Grassow or Gleisberg. They are capable musicians and handle the change of pace smoothly and deftly. This disc will appeal to fans of Steve Roach, Vir Unis, Solitaire, and Red Sector A.

Occulta Fama mislabeled on Sirius /XM

If you've been trying to find the song labeled Occulta Fama / Nostalgia on your Sirius / Xm receiver, it's actually a song by William Orbit - "The Story of Light".... hope that helps. I emailed the Sirius CHILL station to see if they could figure out the identity of the mislabeled song and got no reply... thanks Sirius! :(

"Nostalgia" ... deep, hauntingly beautiful & unjustly labeled "explicit."

I am so glad to see another reviewer on here basically alerting others to the same thing I am about to. NiaLove and I are correct when we share w/ you that "Nostalgia" is NOT an "explicit" album through & through (& might not deserve such label at all, but until I listen to all the songs, I can't say one way or another). To be fair, I've only purchased & listened to "Occulta Fama" after first hearing it on satellite radio. I was immediately hooked after hearing it just once and wanted to hear more. So when I came to iTunes I could not understand why "Occulta Fama" has "explicit" stamped next to it. The song IS AN INSTRUMENTAL! WTF?! Not fair. So please, ignore the "explicit" warnings on this album or the very least, treat yourself to "Occulta Fama" ... you'll be glad you did.

Nothing whatsoever EXPLICIT to my mind. Not even one word... don't know why they labeled it so. I thought it was powerful, courageous and seductive ~ to name but a few descriptive words of praise.
