Album Review

Prior to the 2014 release of Playlist: The Very Best of Ray Parker Jr., the best available Parker anthology was Greatest Hits, issued in 1993. This is an upgrade, not only sonically but with "I Don't Think That Man Should Sleep Alone" and "It's Your Night" in place of "Christmas Time Is Here." Otherwise, the track lists are identical. All the major hits from Parker's lengthy period with Arista — including the Top 15 R&B hits "Jack and Jill," "You Can't Change That," "Two Places at the Same Time," "A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do)," "The Other Woman," "I Still Can't Get Over Loving You," and, of course, "Ghostbusters — are part of the package.
