"Are you over it now?!"

If you're trying to get into this new Blakes record, "New Friends" is the stand-out track to me. I can't stop listening to it! Incredibly catchy rhythms, great drums, and an infectious line over and over: "Are you over it now?" If you are a fan of their self-titled debut, then I imagine you will find several gems on this one. Solid record, nice to have more new Blakes music.

Taking inspiration from early-'60s Brit rock and the D.I.Y. spirit of punk, the Blakes are comprised of Garnet Keim (vocals, guitar), Snow Keim, and Bob Husak (drummer). The power trio took root in 2001, when the Maine-born Keim siblings (who had been busking across the country since the late '90s, working odd jobs and writing music) met Husak at a Seattle coffeehouse.
