This intergenerational duo's 2006 jazz funeral of an album (minus the jazz) mixes jaunty Toussaint deep cuts with more serious collaborations composed in Katrina's wake. Toussaint adds elegant piano to Costello—who sings every track except one—and his Imposters, joining the Celtic gospel fervor of "The Sharpest Thorn" and the title track's calmly acerbic take on federal negligence. The piano/voice duet "Ascension Day" finds the songwriters reveling in their nimble interaction.
