EDITORS’ NOTES

Rammstein certainly had their forefathers—Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Ministry, Laibach—but no band had managed to make industrial music pop quite like they did. Herzeleid is an auspicious debut that combines the frosty thump of Depeche Mode with the gnashing noise of heavy metal for a sound both ferocious and strangely palatable. Two standouts—“Heirate Mich” and the funereal “Rammstein”—were picked for the soundtrack of David Lynch’s nightmarish Lost Highway by early champion Trent Reznor, helping the band quickly find footing outside Germany.

took you long enough

this is album is probably one of the best ones they have if not the best because it's raw and heavy it's before Till really started to sing apart from seemann (which is truy one the most beautiful songs that Rammstein has made) the lyrics are very well done they're so depressingly well written all for sexual frustration and lonliness it's metal poetry as simply as can be put if you only have 10.00 to spend on iTunes spend it on this
