An Amazing Record

This has to be one of Ray Stevens's finest records ever made. The first 5 songs show that he is able to produce serious, yet amazing music. Yet the last 5 show his totally off the wall hillarious side, which is what hes famous for! This album proves just how crazy he is. Or as he would say "He used to be crazy..but he's a whole lot better now.." If you have never heard of Ray Stevens before, this is the the CD to buy.

A repackaging of an excellent album

It should be noted for Ray Stevens fans that this is essentially a repackaging of the 1989 album, "Beside Myself"; same tracks, same order, etc. I think the presentation of this album suffers from the repackaging, as the title and album art for "Beside Myself" showcase the dual theme of the album; "Side A" (tracks 1-5) features heartfelt and sentimental music in a serious vein (think "Everything is Beautiful" or 'Mr. Businessman"), while "Side B" contains the comedy stylings that Stevens is more popularly known for. With the altered name and art, I can only give this version four stars.
