Way Better Than I Ever Knew

I don't get all the hate heaped on this album by fans of The Who. I bought it sort of sight-unseen because I wanted the song "Eminence Front", and I couldn't have been more impressed with the whole album. The only other songs I had heard before were "Athena" and "It's Hard", yet I found myself really enjoying virtually the whole album. It sounds especially great played LOUD, as is the case for all great music. I guess if people are looking for a strict continuation of The Who's older music, this album isn't it, but taken on its own, I love it.

Critics Were Way Off Back In 1982 -Very Solid Album

It’s ironic, critics bashed You Better You Bet on Faces Dances, The Who’s album before It’s Hard and now critics hail it as a Who Classic. Same can be said for this album.
Critics ridiculed the single Athena unmercifully when this album came out, and then proceeded to bash the album. But lick after the lick, this album rocks. And while everyone loves Eminence Front, give Cry If You Want, A Man Is A Man and the title track a shot among the rest. I personally love Cry If You Want, especially live. Long Live The Who!
