LOVE MODOC!!!

I have been a fan of Modoc's since the first song I heard, which is, Devil On My Shoulder. I hope to see them continue to reach well deserved success!! Faithful Fan O. Teresa

Great roadtrip rock album, but may cause speeding!!

This is a great album with driving guitar and rhythms and great lyrics. This album kicks off with a blast on "Black eyed Lover" and you will find yourself singing along with the chorus before it is over. "Make the World Wait" is beautiful and the sound is big and lush. My favorite song, so far, is "I FeelNothing", but there are several favorites to find on this album.

No Sophomore Slump Here

While it doesn't have the same punch as Modoc's self-titled debut, the much anticipated "Automatic and Voluntary" is a VERY satisfying album.

Fans of their debut will appreciate "Black Eyed Lover" and "Make the World Wait".

"Automatic and Voluntary" is very much a throwback to the 70's when bands experimented with different instruments and writing styles to expand their range. Modoc succeeds here, brilliantly. For example, the slide guitar and keys on "Kids in the Run" and the horns on "No News is Good News" show that Modoc isn't afraid to write songs that are structurally and sonically different than what they have released before. And I challenge you to not tap your toes during "Out of the Blue" and "I Feel Nothing".

Ten tracks long, "Automatic and Voluntary" left me smiling and wanting more. It's my hope that Modoc continues to make great music like this. Perhaps they'll do what bands back in the day used to do, and write the next album as they tour. so they can hit the studio and get a third release out quickly.
