Remarkable reworking of a classic

When I heard about this "reconstruction" of such a classic piece, I was 100% sure I was going to hate it. Boy, was I wrong. This is not John Adams or some other 20th/21st century minimalist deconstructing Vivaldi's famous work into something unrecognisable, which is what I thought it would be. Rather, a smart and witty re-working of a classic, paying homage to the original while refreshing such beloved and familiar themes. HIGHLY recommended.

Needs correct pricing

This is an amazing album. Would love to buy it, but currently it’s got funky pricing on iTunes. You can buy the digital download from elsewhere on the internet for a little over 11 dollars.

This was great when it was first released last year. DG is a dying label so it only makes sense for them to relaunch the only album to make money for them a year after with a little more content. My previous review stands, this is a work of genius, but DG needs to get it's act together. -Bz

Born in Germany in the mid-'60s, Richter and his family moved to the U.K. when he was still a little boy; by his early teens, he was listening to the canon of classical music,...
