Album Review

This offering from elusive Celtic new age artist Enaid seems to be the work of David and Diane Arkenstone, the prolific contemporary instrumental duo. Their fingerprints are all over Avalon: A Celtic Legend: lush soundscapes, enjoyable melodies, and a certain cinematic sweep, but as is the case with many of their releases there is little to actually hold the listener's attention. That being said, the album is a perfectly fine collection of wispy, vaguely Celtic new age tunes, ideal for background music on a cold and rainy fall day.

The Arkenstones Strike Again

This album is a gift to those of us with imagination and a love of myths and legends. The orchestration and energy of the music is inspiring and beautiful, like the other works of David Arkenstone and company. This album in particular feels very Arthurian, which is undoubtably intended as the album's name is "Avalon". The music sets the mood in any room, but beware, it's not exactly an exuberant "sing along". If you are one of those people who loves to have music playing whenever you are in a room, this album is perfect for you. The tracks just kind of blend together, creating a flowing story. If you want to give it a try before investing in the album, the first and last tracks on the album are especially good.

Very Good

I thought this was just another celtic album, but I was plesantly mistaken. This music is beautiful, and I am so glad I bought this album. I highly recommend not only this album, but all instrumental albums, like soundtracks, to the world. They provide great music to listen to at any time, without all of the profanity and the bad things that are in music today. I am a very faithful soundtrack listener, and it is beautiful to just sit back and listen to pure music running through your ears. I love this album, and I am so glad that I bought it. I would recommend this to anyone.

Sitting In Avalon

I downloaded tihs about 6 months ago and I have not grown tired of it yet! This music paints a picture in my mind of me actually following David and Diane as they travel the mythical land of Avalon. I can almost see the castle in the distance. It is very relaxing to listen to and I listen to this about 2-3 times a week. I also listen to a bunch of other David Arkenstone music as well. So if you are a fan of his, I would say this is a must have!
