Album Review

Festival of the Heart, a beautifully orchestrated recording, features pianist John Boswell and special guest musicians Brian Keane, Joanie Madden, O. Faruk Tekbilek, Peter Wortman and Ron Bach. These traditional Christmas selections combine acoustic piano, flute, guitar, synthesizer, English horn, penny whistle and sleigh bells to evoke a rich, full sound for the season.

Festival of the Heart

How does he do it? This was one of my first Christmas CD's and of the many I have collected over the years, both vocal and instrumental, this still ranks as one of my favorites. Keep Up The Great Work:)

Festival of the Heart

A truly wonderful Christmas album. If you are looking for a first Christmas album or just for something new, this is the one for you. Truly fantastic. One of my favorite songs is Little Drummer Boy, which starts out as expected, but takes a dramatic twist. Outstanding.

Festival of the Heart

I had never heard of John Boswell, until last night, when he and 3 singers performed at the American Cabaret Theatre here in Indianapolis. I have been listening to this album ever since - it truly does take you back to a simpler time and place - although there's nothing "simple" about his talent. I usually get pretty tired of Christmas music around this time of year, but this combination of talent, skill and heart will never get old. I highly recommend it!
