Nice to see her back in the studio

Although Maggie is known mostly for her collaboration with Mike Oldfield, it's nice to see her back in the studio again. This album is real a nice departure from her past solo work. While, I'm no official music critic, I would describe her past solo albums as mainstream pop,and While they were good albums, they lacked the dept and musical imagery that this album has. I would compare this album to some of Judy Collin's past work, or some of Al stewarts earlier work such as "Modern Times" or "Past, Present and Future" Even though this album seems to consist mainly of traditional folk songs, the are all nicely arranged . Maggie's voice has stood the test of time quite well. It's still as clear and angelic sounding as it's ever been. If you're expecting something similar to her past albums, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed, but if you're looking for something new and different from a veteran musician and vocalist, you may be quite pleased.

Beautiful Work

Maggie's voice and music is still solid and beautiful now as it ever was. A departure from the more mainstream works in her library, she still delivers her music with as much passion as she has done with and without Mike Oldfield. Highly recommended for those with artistic taste and value and a love for Maggie Reilly's voice and music. Sorry folks, this is not a Hip-Hop or Rock album. It's REAL art.

The best rendition of Wild Mountain Thyme I've ever heard. A true artist. The production is only outdone by the beauty of the vocal and the genious of the arrangements.

An EP followed a year later, but Cado Belle dissolved soon after, with Reilly turning to session work before signing on with the trio Riotous Assembly. She met Oldfield in 1979,...
