Customer Reviews

One amazing album. One amazing band.

This album is one of the most amazing rock albums of the modern era. It's got it all. It can be fierce and intense at times (So Cold, Follow, Firefly) and then turn into something soft and beautiful (Forget It, Sooner or Later, Rain). This was BB album I've listened to and I've got to say it's still my favorite out of the current three (I'll see if Dear Agony changes that on Sept. 29). Here's a track by track review: So Cold: 9.5/10- BB's first huge hit (chartwise). This song has hard-pounding riffs, amazing drums and bass, and great vocals. The solo is pretty nice, too. I have heard song so many times, so I've died down a little on this song, but I consider it a modern classic. This is a must download. Simple Design: 10/10- One of my personal favorites. It has never gotten old for me. The guitar is amazing, especially when the acoustic kicks in, and the lyrics are powerful (There's no way that I'm running away!). I love the drums right before the solo. Overall, I'd say this is the best song on the entire album. Follow: 9.3/10- Nice, fast, and intense. This song never seems to let up. Drums and guitar sound great. This one is a good one to download as well right away. Firefly: 9.0/10- A very cool and heavy song. Love the drums in this song as well. Break My Fall: 8.7/10- Although this song does have a decent riff and all, I'd say it has the best lyrics and singing on the album. Ben Burnley has a great voice and should definitely get a lot more recognition for his talent. Forget It: 9.6/10- The first slower song on the album. It is amazing to listen. This song almost creates some kind of atmosphere. The synths and singing sound great and it is a great song to chill out to. Don't skip this one. Sooner or Later: 9.8/10- My second favorite on the album. Everything in this song is incredible! The guitar is the standout on this one in my opinion. This was BB's second big hit (chartwise again). Must download. Breakdown: 8.8/10- Intense. I love the intro where it starts soft and then it starts to pound really hard. Lyrics are good on this one. Away: 8.1/10- I like this song, but not as much as some of the other songs on here. It's still good overall. Singing and guitars standout on this track. Believe: 7.0/10- Worst song on the album, but that doens't mean the song itself it bad. It's just not BB's best in my opinion. It's got a nice guitar sound to it. I tend to skip this song when listening to the album. Rain: 9.3/10- Second slow song. Probably one the best slow songs you will ever hear. Acoustics are great as well as singing. I love the water sounds in the background. Plus, it's a nice little play on a nursery rhyme (Rain, rain, go away; come again another day) I give the alternate version though 7.8/10. It just doesn't have the same feeling as the original. Stick to the original. Overall, the album is incredible. I suggest purchasing the whole album. Otherwise, the best single downloads would be So Cold, Simple Design, Follow, and Sooner or Later. We Are Not Alone is one album have to get if you love modern rock! Make sure you get I Will Not Bow as well (not on this album of course). I have a feeling Dear Agony (Sept. 29) is going to be flawless.

The BB album that made me a "Ben Head"

This is the BB album that hooked me as a fan and in my opinion is the most diverse cd they have put out. This is possibly due to the help of Billy Corgan but eitherway its amazing. This album has songs that you just want to mosh to (Breakdown) as well as melodic peices (Forget It). I may be a huge fan but they're newer albums tend to lean toward all being melodic and they seem to keep the same tempo, more diversity between the songs would be nice. If you looking to listen to some BB then this should be the first album to get into. - Also, why is every one asking about "Blow Me Away"? it was never on this album, its on the Halo 2 soundtrack or the So Cold EP, which ITunes does not have unfortunatly.

Just one thing

Not actually going to review this. I just wanted to correct the iTunes reviewer - Breaking Benjamin is not from Philadelphia, they are from Wilkes-Barre. NEPA REPRESENT!

Formed: 2000 in Wilkes-Barre, PA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Pennsylvania natives Breaking Benjamin, named after founder and lead singer Ben Burnley, play a brand of metal-tinged alternative rock that came to define the sound of mainstream rock in the early 2000s. Indebted equally to the minor-chord dirges of first-wave grunge rockers like Alice in Chains and the pyrotechnic bombast of vintage arena rock, Breaking Benjamin became one of the most popular rock bands in the United States, scoring a number one with the single "Breath" in 2007. Two of their albums,...
