Album Review

No One F***s With Vegas Thunder is quintessential balls-out rock & roll — sludgy and stoopid, it's also hugely entertaining, a breathless testament to the adolescent fantasies which remain the force behind rock's enduring relevance. Vegas Thunder's white-trash vignettes cover all the bases, from women ("Sweet Young Thing," "Girls Like You") to whiskey ("Cheers to Saturday Night") to, well, women ("Homemade Sin," "Mr. Right Now"), their tales of teenage rebellion informed throughout by an unshakable belief in the transcendent power of loud guitars and primal rhythms — when they sing "Shake your ass and let yourself go/ Bless the savior Rock and Roll" on "R.R. Ransom," it's not just lip service, it's a mantra.
