Our greatest living soloist

Jansen is a treasure. Her flawless intonation and her illuminating emotionality, the sheer life she brings to any piece never disappoints. Her take on Bach is fresh, dazzling, and true to the spirit of the composer. This won't leave my playlist for the foreseeable future.

Thank you.

First I have to say that I am not a big fan of Baroque music nor of concertos. Not saying I hate it but not a fan. I belong to more of symphonies and a more contemporary arrant sound.
So why did I buy this cd? Because of her cd "Beau Soir". Which is treasure for me. So being that Janine Jansen has my attention I had to give it a chance.
And with my gut feeling, of course I am not disappointed. How does she do it? ?
It is so important to have music interpreted threw out our time in such that it would not be forgotten but also why it shouldn't be forgotten. And the only way to do that is to show the beauty of why the music was loved at one time to begin with. Now of course Bach is forever for us. But with so much different junk music in the world people are hooked on, they would never know him.
So I say thank you to Janine Jansen for bringing me closer to the beauty of Bach. And for putting down something that will maybe be one day someone's first taste of true music.

Excellent

A truly great interpretation plus excellent sound.. good string instruments played very well, not like those 2 cellos guys-Uf! The same goes to the other guys - the Piano ones.
Jansen captures the essence of Bach, not as easy as many might think. Thanks to the Elise Mathilde Foundation. Anyone thinking Grammy?
