Pay no attention to those who say this sound doesn't work for Joanna. While this is a slight departure from what most know her for, this style of music is absoltely true to the essence of who she is. If you've seen her live, you would know that her music reflects her upbringing and influences of country, funk and even a bit of her formal classical training. She is absoltely one of the most overlooked artists I have come across in a decade or longer and has much more spirit and heart than anything Nashville has tried to pass as "authentic music" in a long time. I love this record!

when something is wrong

that is the best song on the whole album.

What the heck is this?

I understand crossover country albums, I like them, but this sounds like 1970's RnB music. It just doesn't work for her with her thick accent. Why would she release a few very traditional country style singles, then put out an album reminiscent in the style of Diana Ross?
