10 Songs, 38 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

After making 2013’s Baptized alone with a selection of producers, Chris Daughtry returns to recording with his full band. The effect is to remove some of his previous album’s electronic dressing without jettisoning its melodic chops and ambitious, eclectic spirit. Daughtry’s voice glides from a tender ache to a roar across elemental rock grooves (“Stuff of Legends”), aching ballads (“As You Are”), and, on “Back in Time,” a dash of electro-blues. The effervescence of the arena-sized choruses is matched by Daughtry’s increasingly positive outlook, with the singer’s defiance shining through “White Flag”: “I lost who I was lingering in the dark… I won't surrender, pray the Lord my soul to take/Thank God, I live to die another day.”

Daughtry’s BACK

Take me back in time to a place where Daughtry returns to their roots. Deep End will be a great lead single to cruise to a new rooted Daughtry. Welcome back guys!

gir9 ,

Dude.

Chris i get that you wanted to try different things. But you gotta listen to your fans. Most of them are begging you to release material like your first three records. BTS was my fav lol but dude. When you keep releasing pop when your fans want some rock n roll, makes it look like you’re just chasing the dollar.

Livin' on a Prayer ,

Amazing

With recently released songs like “Backbone” and “Deep End”, this album is shaping up to be Daughtry’s best material to date! The music keeps evolving and his vocals never disappoint. This band is solid and great live.
