Album Review

Eight is the eighth studio album from 80s teen idol Nik Kershaw and comes some six after 2006’s self-released You’ve Got to Laugh. Not one to try and re-kindle his 80s heyday fame, Kershaw opts for a more mature sound, one that is inspired by his work with various pop artists over the 20 years since he left the spotlight, to concentrate on working as a songwriter., Rovi

Still making great music

I've been a fan since the 80's. His later efforts (check out To Be Frank) are great, too, and Ei8ht proves he still has it. He always had a great sense of melody, but his songwriting continues to mature -- reflective, uplifting with a touch of his wry sense of humor. I get the sense that he has a lot to be thankful for -- there is introspection and centeredness in his lyrics that make me appreciate what I have and what I need.

Nik is back!

Nik Kershaw has been one of my favorite singer-songwriter since the early 80's with his Human Racing record. While his sound has matured over the years, he hasn't lost his ability to write beautiful melodies. After a few listens, I think this is his best effort since his late 80's albums!

Another great cd

All of Nik Kershaw's cds since 2000 have been really great. This is one is no different. Buy it now. The sky's the limit is an amazing song.
