EDITORS’ NOTES

On their sixth album, emo superstars Hawthorne Heights evoke an auspicious summertime atmosphere. With lyrical images of road trips, sunshine, and good friends, guitarist/vocalist JT Woodruff and his bandmates banish bittersweet memories and failed relationships on the anthemic “Pink Hearts,” galloping riff-rocker “Crimson Sand,” and in the buoyant melodies of “Just Another Ghost.” Later, the moody explosion of the title track and raw-throated backing screams of “Push Me Away” lend the album some harder edges.

This album is straight up amazing. The guys from Hawthorne Heights have brought it once again. I recently had the chance to see them live for the first time in nearly 10 years, and they are every bit as good as I remember. This album does not disappoint fans of old school HH, and it’s so good I assume they’ll pick up quite a few more fans along the way.
