Review from Latin Beat Magazine, May 2006

This eighth release by bassist/bandleader Alex Torres Y Su Orquesta celebrates the band's 25th Anniversary. Established in 1980 in Amsterdam, New York, this 13-piece orchestra is a genuine tropical dance music machine performing popular Afro-Caribbean rhythms and styles ,including salsa, merengue, cha-cha-cha, bomba, plena, cumbia, latin jazz, and even reggaeton. Steamy arrangements accompany all ten original scores of this production plus an additional remix of the opening salsa track, La Ropa Esta En El Baul, which is adapted to a salsa/reggaeton format, thus adjourning the Latin dance party. All compositions are credited to Alex Torres, with a bit of help on some of them by percussionist Jimmy Fontanes. Sammy Negron fronts the band on lead vocals, assisted by the background vocals of William Cruz and Angel Dueno, while pianist Nicholas Lue is the band's assistant director. Favorite tracks include both versions of the opening track, the hyper energy Baila Merengue, the socially conscience English-language salsa lyrics of King Cash, and the jibaro sounds of Comencemos El Vacilon (featuring guest group Mundo Nuevo).

This is what I call dancing. Can't stop dancing.
