iTunes Review

Forget the fancifully named lead singer (born Vincent Furnier), the live show's horror-movie trappings, even the Budweiser and golf of later years. Love It to Death was where sloppy rocker Cooper tightened up and took his place as hard-rock hero for a new generation that wasn't sure if love was all you needed. (Teen philosophy circa 1971: "When you see me with a smile on my face/Then you'll know I'm a mental case.") At his best dispensing single-length chunks of post-garage catchiness ("Eighteen," the hit here, was only the first of many), he also reveled in long theatrical pieces ("The Ballad of Dwight Frye") and outright silliness. The album ends with a cover of a tune by Rolf "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" Harris.

A Revolution

The greatest rock album to date , only rivaled by Killer, Schools Out , Billion Dollar Babies and Muscle of Love . Again flawless. None of you remember the pop crap that was filing the airwaves when Cooper hit with it's sarcastic transgender smile and bag full of black taboo thoughts. This cover had a sticker on it over Alices crotch because it looked like Alice was playing with himself below the leopard skin cape. Cool huh. Every song is brilliant , from the very sexual , Is It My Body to the tortured cry of confusion I'm Eighteen. Every artist on this planet loved Alice Cooper and with good reason why, there was no one like them. And for all you kiddlies that don't remember , Alice Cooper was a BAND , not a person. The day they broke up and Alice went on his own was the day the Cooper group was over. Ezrin later hired guitar geniuses and super musicians to back Cooper but never achieved ANYTHING close to the original albums. No , I am not associated with them, I just know the music. Alice Cooper was Neal Smith, Michael Bruce, Glen Buxton and Dennis Dunaway.

Love It To Death

Right up there with Seargent Peppers as an earth shattering LP! The first rocker to really exploit parents fears of rock's influence on kids. My best friend's mom told him he couldn't hang out with me because I listened to Alice Cooper. Eighteen is one of the best rebellious rock anthems of all time. Great LP by a great band that changed the face of music. RRHOF should be a no brainer. The Ramones are in, why not Alice?

Im eighteen is one of the best songs in rock history. This album is a must have because of solid songwriting and awesome guitar. Great album, but Eighteen is the only really awesome song that you must have except maybe Is It My Body or Ballad of Dwight Fry unless you are a Cooper fan, then you should already own this.

Originally, there was a band called Alice Cooper led by a singer named Vincent Damon Furnier. Under his direction, Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical and violent brand of heavy metal that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, heavy metal, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood, and huge boa constrictors, all coordinated by the heavily made-up Furnier. By that time, Furnier had adopted the name...
