Customer Reviews

Yes, very good. Very, very atmospheric.

This is the kind of vague, nonassuming, unobtrusive lounge music played to great effect in, well, lounges. But there's something else there, something really musical. The beats are chosen with a genius' ear for construction and momentum, the synth washes and rhodes-like chimes are restrained but somehow ominous and isolating. There is some atonality there, too, amidst all the tasteful clatter, hushed pads and rolling boil of easy-going chillout vibes. Sample the deep indoor g-music beats of "Sea Traffic," the unsettled tropical overcast of "Bay of Islands," and the spacey echoing just-barely-at-the-edge-of-dub vibes of "Sonar." How can you not like this? Am I wrong? Have I lived according to wrong ideals? I think not. This album is pretty deep, despite the handcuffs placed on it by the failures, in general, of its genre. But what is so interesting about it? As HAL 9000 claims, in "Empty," it's rather difficult to define.

Totally agree with the first review...

Great ambient CD!

This is REAL music.

This album is worth every penny. Downtempo, Chillout, Ambient. I wouldn't expect anything less from Blackfish. Best track is Bay of Islands which puts you there. It's crazy. Get it.
