The Kicks of Passion

Fueled by Ramen Records has brought the world lots of great bands. From The Academy Is, Cobra Starship and Gym Class Heroes to Panic! at the Disco, Fall Out Boy and This Providence they've been supplying us with bands to enjoy. Well now they've brought a new one: Powerspace. I myself am a big fan of Fueled By Ramen so i bought this album(not on itunes, i bought it in cd form) immediatley. Let me tell you this, its worth far more than the money. Every song is greatly produced and easy to listen to. If you liked Powerspace's other songs, this is definatley a buy for you. Single Song Reviews: 1. Prolugue: Adam Beckett- a great way to start of their album. a really catchy chorus. the first line is a little cheesy though. 9/10 2. Quarintine My Heart (Baby)- Judging from the title, i thought it would be a really cheesy song but it turned out to be one of my favorites. really catchy. 10/10 3. Powerspace Snap Bracelet- Its a good song but the original is alot better. this one is alot more techno. 7/10 4. Right On Right Now- Being the first single of the album, you know its already pretty damn good. I like the ending outro thing. 10/10 5. Amplifire- One of the slower songs. cool guitar. suprising intro.pre chorus is a little long at the start. 8/10 6. Be Aggressive- A more techno song. its cool how they mix his voice. also really catchy. good. 8.5/10 7.This Is Not What You Had Planned- this is not what i had planned for this song. 10/10 8. Dancing in The Future- Weirdest song in the album. like its really weird. really weird. reminds me of jimmy neutron. still a good listen though. 7/10 9. Choose Your Own Adventure- really pretty actualy damn good. 9/10 10. It Smells Like Electricity In Here- Another remake. the old version is alot better. i think its unnesascerry that the lead singer has to go "whoaoahaoa" so much. lol. 8/10 11. I Met My Best Friend In Prague- One of the highlights of the album. well for me at least. 10/10 12. Sleep, Everyone...- A great way to end a great album. Overall this is an outstanding album. If you have the money, buy it. If you don't have the money, beg for it. KUDOS TO POWERSPACE!!!

Genious. Pure genious.

This band is amazing. I've been in love with them forever, and anxiously awaited this album's release. It's finally here and, frankly, couldn't be more impressed. Prologue: Adam Beckett - My personal favorite song on the album. I've never seen a better opening to an album. They come out strong with a catchy, energetic chorus that gets me every time. 10/10 Quarintine My Heart (Baby) - I cringed when I read the song name, but they really surprised me on this one. Just another classic in the making. 9/10 Powerspace Snap Bracelet - A Powerspace classic. Still love it. 9/10 Right On, Right Now - The second Powerspace posted the new version of this song on their Myspace, my heart sunk. I was a huge fan of the original, and the new, slower one just makes me sad. Good song, though. I give them props, just because the original rocked my socks off. 8/10 Amplifire - This song doesn't stand out much from the others, to me at least. But I still love it, along with all the others. 9/10 Be Agressive - Probably my least favorite song. A little bit strange for my taste. 7/10 This Is Not What You Had Planned - I definately didn't plan on becoming addicted to this song. Great one. Worth a listen. 9/10 Dancing in the Future - Perhaps even stranger than Be Agressive, but I find it a little more entertaining. 7.5/10 Choose Your Own Adventure - Great song. Great song. Great song. 9/10 It Smells Like Electricity in Here - Another remake, but I don't mind the changes as much as I do in Right On, Right Now. I love this this song forever. 10/10 I Met My Best Friend in Prauge - The name makes me laugh, but the song is uber-deep. Love at first listen. 9.5/10 Sleep, Everyone... - An interesting closer for the album, a little softer at the beginning than the others, but once again, pure Powerspace genious. So, in closing. Download this album. You won't be dissapointed.

Formed: Ohio

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s

Although Ohio-bred, Chicago-based indie rockers Powerspace are part of the same Fueled by Ramen empire that unleashed Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and The Academy Is..., the young quartet features a subtle change from the emo-tinged punk-pop that made the label's name. Powerspace specialize in a cross between hooky power pop à la Fountains of Wayne, ironic glam metal in the tradition of the Darkness, and heavily '80s-influenced dance-rock textures that recall early MTV stars like INXS and Duran...
