iTunes Review

The soundtrack to Disney’s resplendent live-action update of the animated classic gets a similarly opulent makeover with Ariana Grande, John Legend, Josh Groban, Céline Dion, Audra McDonald, and more. The album is filled with rousing sing-along moments perfect for the family trip (“Belle,” “Gaston,” and “Be Our Guest”) or when you need some alone time in the driveway (“How Does a Moment Last Forever” and “Evermore”).

Ruined A Classic!

Why would Disney ruin what was already perfect?

John Legend sounds like a goat belting and is vocally nowhere near as silky smooth and Peabo Bryson or Luther Vandross.
Ariana Grande lacks the vocal charisma of Celiné Dion (or those she tries to imitate Mariah Carey/Christina Aguilera) and a certain punch.

Just because two people can "sing" doesn't mean they should do a duet together. Vocal harmonies and blending into the melody are important factors. The tone of ones voice should compliment the music and their duet partner.
I don't mind remakes but these two sound horrible together and have no chemistry.

I'll stick to the original. But if you like, buy it, be my guest. (No pun intended.)

And no I'm not a hater! I love music and am very educated in the arts.

Love it.

The haters going to hate and you can't judge a song honestly with only a small sample. I, for one, don't feel the title song was ruined. I know music and that piece was fine even with Grande and Legend chosen. I don't think of the movie as a remake. The first was animated, the Broadway was live-action and this is live-action with a bit of a darker tone. I don't care how many times this story is retold, I will love it like I have since I first saw the movie and the broadway show. This movie is a different version. Same story, same characters, different actors, same music with new pieces, same composer. FYI: Don't have anything nice to say, don't post or say anything. Move on and KMA (Kiss My A**).

Great vocals, horrendous production

After hearing a snippet of the new version of Beauty and the Beast in the final trailer, I was very excited to hear the full version. However, this mess is just awful. Ariana Grande and John Legend both have amazing vocals, but the production ruins the whole song. It sounds like a cheap karaoke track that was made by throwing together some basic loops in GarageBand. What happened to the orchestral version in the trailer?
