Love this guys voice. Perfect type of voice for this.

A Band Evolution.

Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, Rocket From The Crypt, all great… Obits keep it rollin'!

Decent offering from a decent band

The Obits are another bluesy, garage band, pretty much like all the other bluesy garage bands except for one difference: they have an awesome pedigree. Drive Like Jehu, Rocket From The Crypt, and Hot Snakes especially, were all incredible bands that The Obits were previously huge parts of. Once The Epic Hot Snakes crashed and burned, two bands rose out of their ashes, Night Marchers & Obits, that don't come close to the output of their previous bands. There are a couple of solid songs on this album, but there are a lot that are just dull. That's pretty much the standard for every Obits album, one or two songs that pop and then safe, bluesy, rockabilily influenced derivative tunes. It's a shame this is what we're left with after Hot Snakes, but this is it, and it's Ok, but that's just not acceptable for this talented bunch.
