Nice sound...

Vittorio's voice is very nice, but contrary to popular opinion, he is neither a Bocelli nor a Groban. YET. Vittorio has very much potential, but he tends to back off a lot on the high notes, has poor breath support, and has limited control of the vibrato or "color" in his voice because of it. I would give him another five years or so to grow into his voice and really become something, because right now, he's just not there yet. All the same, his voice is quite pleasant, and the music the text is set to is lovely, especially on 'Roma Sogna'. I appreciate any artist who gets more people interested in classical music, so overall, Vittorio gets a thumbs up for having great potential, and bringing people closer to the classical genre.

Vittorio is full of talent !!! A legend in the making !

The word "crossover" has many nuances in the modern record industry. A tenor with vast appeal to a pop-orientated audience is usually, by implication, one who will find little welcome among devotees of the operatic art. Into such an arena, with a talent to unite two large audiences and make one vast one, steps Vittorio Grigolo. While "popera" artists proliferate to left and right, Vittorio's 14-song collection speaks of an artist determined to set the creative bar much higher. That is why In The Hands Of Love, recorded in Rome, has such an assured aura. It showcases the work of a vocalist who is effortlessly versatile, and one who remembers where he comes from. In his deal with Eric Ghenassia and Universal he has insisted on a contractual clause allowing him to perform three operas a year, in the interests of keeping his vocal chords oiled. "Opera is gymnastics for the voice," says Vittorio Grigolo. In which case, he is a gold-medal athlete indeed.

Vittorio - Finally a "pop" tenor who measures up

For years, everyone has compared various "pop" tenors as the new Pavarotti. Though some of the recent crop are excellent and powerful (Alagna, Watson). Their voices have a true operatic quality versus "pop". None of the "pop" tenors have combined a richness in voice with a lyrical sweetness when called for....that is, until now. Vittorio's voice has the fullness that is found lacking in another best selling "pop" tenor. This richness and lyrical quality is evident right from cut 1 "Tu Sei". His voice is as impressive in the soft, romantic ballads, as it is the powerful ones. I look forward to more music from this wonderful new tenor who measures up to his nickname "little Pavarotti."
