Customer Reviews

This a lovely mellifluous arrangement. Just what you've sought. Don't hesitate to buy the other two. These are some of the best recordings of these particular pieces that I am aware of, including the Oistrakh recordings. These belong in your collection; over the past few days after having discovered this duo based on reviews of other listeners and lovers alike, I have analysed these recordings. Oistrakh has more subtlety to his playing that guarantees their placement in your collection. Ibragimova's studio Bach was rather good for a first go but her live recording lacks that something special that her last one had. The tiny, anemic tone is probablly what put me off. That that the ensemble problems with Tiberghien. It could have been an issue with the hall however and both seemed to have no problem playing the notes. The interpretation just couldn't win me over. -Bz

Chilling at times to listen to. I only wish Opus 24 would have been included as it's one of my favorite Beethoven pieces.

She has also made several distinguished recordings, perhaps the most acclaimed of which was her 2009 Hyperion account of the J.S. Bach sonatas and partitas for solo violin. Ibragimova's...
