Graduating from the banjo-plucking, stomp-and-clap neo-folk movement they helped create, the quartet embraces a bold and electrifying brand of stadium-filling alt-rock. With thick electric guitars and atmospheric keyboards, hard-driving anthems like “Believe” or “The Wolf” the decade's most distinctive band is every bit as powerful with the electricity turned on.

I’m highly disappointed that M&S has decided to go electric… takes away their unique sound.

Not the Mumford I love

My license plate has "Keep the earth below my feet" around the border. I love these guys. But the precious reviewer, Tord, I think hit the nail on the head. Where are the banjos and drums and M&S sounds we know? I am all for them being creative, but I am really disappointed with "Believe", the 1st song released off this album. I hope I hear more banjo and classic M&S on the rest of the album.


Though the new sound is good, it's the lack of lyrical depth on the first single that has me doubting this new venture already. Here's to hoping the rest will get back to adding back in the richness we all love and have come to expect from these songwriters.
