Great disc

This takes it to the next level. It makes me think about thinking. Beneath the tip...

Beneath the Tip of the Iceberg

I’ve been looking forward to the LAW full length for a while, and it lived up to every expectation. Their 2007 EP Of Monkeys and Man received heavy rotation in my car after I first got it in my hands. Demonstrating a creative and “out of the box” style of writing, these guys captured my ear the minute I first heard them. As a musical society, we need more bands like this, thinking and writing fearlessly. Iceberg steps the bands writing up a notch, maturing gracefully and propelling their skills to the next level. They may have sonically taken a hit with the absence of the violin, but the band hasn’t missed a step with this release. The songs stand strong on their own. The sweeps are clean and the vocal melodies are gratuitous, all encompassed by a very tightly executed rhythm section, which changes time flawlessly several times throughout the album. The lyrics are the epitome of self-expression, bringing style and character to the music that embodies the lost art of deep, intellectual thought. Sum it up in once sentence? “I love this record.”

Do yourself a favor and download “The Love Song of Orpheus and R.O.”

I am sitting in their studio listening to them practice and they are incredible. The whole album is not only technically awesome the vocals are intensively passionate.
