No, Bless you Dustin Hunter

Dustin Hunter's musical style is reminiscent of various points of my youth, a new wave pop sound with a strong rock and 70's glam foundation. His voice is unique, in the same vein as Bret Anderson and Jarvis Cocker, it just soothes, and makes you feel like he's an old friend who's having you over for tea.

Not being a musician, I won't review the technical aspects, all i know is his album makes me happy... and truly, isn't that enough?

I hope to see (and hear) more of him on ITunes.

Sugar spun nostalgia

Mr. Hunter's debut shows a strength of musical identity not often seen on a debut. It's lyrics are personal yet never self indulgent, the music is never out of step. All the elements of the record coalesce into a smooth, clean, yet intimate pop record. Cursory listens reveal an affinity for The Church, the slower side of T. Rex, with an edge of 80s british guitar pop. The faster numbers have a classic power pop energy that's almost over infectious. The slinky bedroom number 'Scream for me' is a stand out, all hip wiggling guitar and innocent glockenspiel. With a lyrics encouraging the song's subject to give in to what can onyl be a hell of a ride. Hunter's voice coaxs the sexuality out of every ounce of the song; in fact the vocals are possibly the most enjoyable element of the record. Showing a dynamic range of emotion and a healthy set of chops. like the song says "you know you want just a little bit" I think that sums up the record nicely.

Great album.. Every song well written and proformed
