Album Review

With a voice that caresses the ears like fine silk, Sanchez has earned a revered place among lovers rock crooners. Since 1986, the singer has been taking R&B hits and covering them from a reggae perspective, generally improving upon the song's overall quality. Back at One, his second greatest-hits collection, showcases more of his original music, from the inspiring "Praise Him" to the breezy "Rearrange My Life." Of course, there are his distinctive remakes too, including the mellow title track and an ingenious reworking of the Toni Braxton hit "Another Sad Love Song" which wraps the melody with laid-back soulfulness. This album offers a satisfying overview of Sanchez' talents.
