10 Songs, 40 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

After an insanely busy stretch during the late '70s, Bob Seger hit the ‘80s running. A more polished affair than Night Moves or 'Live' Bullet, Against the Wind adds a little glitter to the band’s otherwise dressed-down sound, whether it’s a touch of synthesizer on the ballads (“No Man’s Land,” “You’ll Accomp’ny Me”) or innuendo on the rockers (“Her Strut,” “The Horizontal Bop”). Not that the band lost their substance—just listen to the lament of the title track, where Seger tinkers with his favorite trope—nostalgia: “Wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then.”

So excited to finally see all the seger albums !

Of course I have most of the cd's. But, plenty of great Seger tunes now available. Her strut, against the wind, fire lake, and the list goes on, think it might be a tie for best album, this and stranger in town.
Remember when I first heard this album, 9th grade, 1980/81'. A true classic !
