EDITORS’ NOTES
Beyoncé saved her most boldly experimental beats for her self-titled fifth album, a mature but still mischievous opus that makes monogamy cool and stability sexy. “Drunk in Love” is soaring, ecstatic, and intimate, an instant wedding-playlist staple; “Partition” has Bey at her flirtiest and most independent. Throw in a feminist motivational speech, on self-love anthem “***Flawless,” and a handful of instantly iconic ad-libs (you’ll never think of the word “surfboard” the same again)—it's a triumph that’s both audacious and effortless.

Ratings and Reviews
great!
Only Beyoncé could do something like this & still succeed 👌
Best album of 2013!
Expect the unexpected! If you are close minded and bitter, this isn't for you. Simply said, this album is utterly amazing! If you want to hear her old songs, buy the old albums. The different styles of music are incredible. Listen to the lyrics, not just beats. The videos are a bonus to the music. Every song has significance and means more than you think you know. I've had the entire album on repeat since 12/13/13. It's so great that I can't decide which is my favorite song. Regardless of your opinion, she will continue to succeed. I applaud you Mrs. Carter! Keep it coming!
If you're looking for the old Beyonce...
This album isn't for you. She's bringing an older mature version of herself that's more reflective of the sexual liberation she's feeling at her age. She's a mom, she's a wife and she's an artist and it all comes through in this album. The videos really do go hand in hand with the songs and the entire is worth a comeplete listen (at least 2-3 times). Fans always have expectations as to what her music should be...but we often forget it's her music she's giving to us. It's a personal experience and we get to be a part of it.
