iTunes Review

Billion Dollar Babies is both an indictment of early ’70s American life and a celebration of it. This deceptively smart, glitter-heavy concoction is pure rock ’n’ roll theater too, from opener “Hello Hooray” to creepy closer “I Love the Dead.” And there’s no escaping Alice Cooper’s clever lyrical narratives—or the downright Yardbirds/Stones riff-outs—of “No More Mister Nice Guy,” “Raped and Freezin’,” and “Generation Landslide.” The anthem “Elected” and the stomping title song (featuring Donovan on vocals) are purposely rich with self-parody.

Awesome

This band was just plain awesome. This album is a must buy for anybody, and BTW, the soundbite for Billion Dollar Babies is not the actual song. They screwed it up I guess. The actual song is totally different. More drums and guitar, baby!

Don't forget the Coop, eh

Always underated, but I ask you, where would Reznor or Manson be w/o the Coop? Generation Landslide is one of the greatest unknown tracks in rock history. If you claim to have a collection of rock music and don't have this, you're a liar.

"Loving Every Second; Every Moment; Every Scream!"

.."And I'm Feelin' Mean!"..(I remember when my little brother first played "Billion Dollar Babies" up in his room!) It was a real "Rude Awakening" from the James Taylor/CSN&Y/Joni Mitchell bag we were all so "Deep Into" back then! Yet; We both really liked it; And "Babies" still "Shocks "Em & Rocks 'Em" some 30+ years on! {Yes; there would simply not be any: Jane's Addiction or Marilyn Manson if old Vince Furnier hadn't shown us all the way!} <Do You remember the "House Band" at the party in the film: "Diary Of A Mad Housewife"?-That was "The Alice Cooper Band!">From "Hello" to "Dead"; "Billion Dollar Babies" is a super "Smokin' Seventies Set!"...by Grimmbo.

Originally, there was a band called Alice Cooper led by a singer named Vincent Damon Furnier. Under his direction, Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical and violent brand of heavy metal that was designed to shock. Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, heavy metal, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood, and huge boa constrictors, all coordinated by the heavily made-up Furnier. By that time, Furnier had adopted the name...
