Customer Reviews

Well, it'a something.

I was extremely stoked for this album, like really stoked. Well, it wasn't what I expected or wanted. I'll give it to you, it's all right, just not fantastic. This album shifted into the common pop indie feel. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan. Red Yellow and Blue is one of my all time favorite albums. But, this album doesn't even hold a candle to Red Yellow and Blue. It's like it's lost that feel. It seems to have scrapped the gritty vocals with beautiful lyrics for a clean general sound. Sure, might get a radio hit that all the hollow high- waisted "hipster" girls will claim to be the "soundtrack to their life". But it won't be that album that confused teens reach for to make sense of their hectic sexually frustrated existence like Red Yellow and Blue was. I still love Born Ruffians, I just hope the next album is better.

Awesome

I've been a huge fan of thee guys for years now and I think this is their most impressive release to date. The flow between songs and the musical connections that go on between them is amazing. The production is a total twist from what I expected but is an incredible compliment to their infectious sound. This album is great for anyone anywhere and is sure to get you up and movie' !!!

Stepped into a creative puddle...

and came out swimmingly! I've been a Born Ruffians fan for a few years now and this album is just as good as the others. If you're a new fan, start with this album and then get the rest! Also check out Luke Lalonde's (lead singer) solo album "Rhythymnals"

Toronto's Born Ruffians feature Luke LaLonde (vocals/guitar), Mitch DeRosier (bass/vocals), and Steve Hamelin (drums). Formed in 2002, the indie rock trio creates a jaunty mix of shifty guitar riffs and hyper-chic vocals for a Pixies-esque shredded kind of sweetness. An appearance at the annual Pop Montreal festival and U.S. tour dates with Hot Chip and Shy Child coincided with the release of Born Ruffians' self-titled debut EP for Warp Records in October 2006. The band's first full-length, Red Yellow...
