Notas editoriales de iTunes

One of the most original groups to emerge in the mid-‘90s, Camp Lo (Sonny Cheeba & Geechi Suede) dazzled hip-hop fans with their hyper-stylized rhyme couplets, baffling slanguage, and endless throwback references. Backing their oddball flows and interweaving verses was some seriously brilliant production from North Carolina beat wizard SKI (also known for his work on Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt). At times the Lo seem to be speaking their own language, flossing on the mic while shouting out Blaxploitation cultural touchstones like Cleopatra Jones, Jim Kelly, Foxy Brown, Huggy Bear, Super Fly, and the Poitier/Cosby joints that inspired the title. But even when you're not exactly sure what they're saying, it still sounds great. The album spawned several choice singles; their breakout smash "Luchini - This Is It," the mellow debut "Coolie High," and timeless party jams "Black Nostaljack - Come On" and "Rockin It - Spanish Harlem." A swaggering rap classic if there ever was one.

Really good...

If you are into good hip hop and want some classics to stack up your collection then, this is a must buy.

Overlooked Classic

I remembered bangin' this album back when it came out. Camp Lo is without a doubt one of the most gifted hip hop groups out there and this is one of my favorite albums. Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede have a flow that keep you head knockin'. When this came out back in '97, there was nothing else like it, sick flow with old school '70's beats. Check out "Luchini", "Swing", and "Rockin It". Wouldnt be a bad idea to cop there other albums too, nothing else like it out there, a welcomed break from all those wannabe gangsta rappers.

The greatest...

Let me keep this short and to the point. This is one of the greatest hiphop cds of all time. It was ahead of its time when it came out, and continues to be now. It changed the game. Do yourself a favor and just buy it. Nuff said...

Camp Lo is a rap group from the Bronx who melds hip-hop with jazz sensibilities and funk. The album was reissued two years later on Arista Records, and a second album (Let's Do It Again) finally appeared in 2002. Five years later, Camp Lo returned with Black...
