Customer Reviews

This album is a work of ART!! A band deserving of our attention!!

this album is beautiful on vinyl, which was how it was originally relased, and how it probably should be listened to. This album also needs to be heard in its entirety, not in jumbled 30 second increments. Their two previous albums have amazig production value, so this lo-fi sound is a style choice. These songs are really catchy and AMAzing! Also, see this band live if you have a chance. guaranteed good time.

Great Lo-Fi

I'm a huge fan of the Magic Bullet and F**KIT Tapes releases of their first full-length, "I Was Born At Night." The recording was real raw, busy, heavy, sing-songy, triumphant and wicked awesome. The Troubleman Unlimited release remixed (or remastered?) it, "cleaned" it up, added some overdubs (I think) and basically watered down that raw energy (TMU is a great label, but they blew it on that one). The "lo-fi" recording on this record contributes to recapturing the energy and barely constrained chaos that made their first record so freak'n GREAT. Yeah, the drums lack some low-end punch, but background hiss adds to that entropy that seems to build up during each song, like they are trying to chorale some force, and not always winning. Oh, and the songs are really cool.

Could have been good...

The band is not bad, the quality of the sound is. If they do another recording with better sound I will consider it.
