The Grace of Alana Does Not Fail!

Ever since I heard "Black Roses Red" from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants soundtrack, I knew I had to track down the music of this talented yet sadly obscure artist. With its awesome guitar- and piano-based arrangements (including some nice instrumental touches, major and minor key variations, and great bridges), insightful and often introspective lyrics, and crystal clear vocal delivery from Miss Alana herself, this album is one not to be missed by any pop/rock aficionado. Each song has its own character, and, most importantly, each conveys a wide variety of emotion, from doubt to feelings of insecurity, regret, or isolation. Such sentiments will resonate not only with young adults, but with anyone who is experiencing sense of displacement in their lives. Although my personal favorite is “The Tunnel,” which has a powerful chorus and talks about the search for truth after the loss of a loved one, or about the search for truth in general, I give all the songs my highest recommendation. If you’re looking for a pensive pop/rock album that is not quite as moody as Evanescence but still gracefully withstands repeated listening, then look no further. This album will be worth every penny you spend on it. As for me, I can’t wait to download the new songs from Alana that iTunes has recently released!

Black Roses Red

If you've heard the song Black Roses Red and you don't like it i suggest you listen to it again. The meaning of the song is absolutely beautiful. Its about how she hasn't learned to love, but she wants to and she's afraid she'll be betrayed. You can relate to this song if you've wanted to tell a friend a secret, but you're afraid they'll betray you. I love it when i can relate to a song.
