A Welcome Return

This album was a long wait...but worth it. The best Blackfield album since Blackfield II. The increased involvement of Steven Wilson for this album is evident. Great arrangements, harmonies and overall musicality. The last two albums weren't bad, but didn't live up to the level of the first two. This album marks a welcome return to all the elements that made the first two so great. Trust me: get this album...

Best since the first

I love Blackfield 5! Amazing songs and arrangements; very soul-touching; amazing work.

Such a different sound

I had never heard of these guys until I was just browsing music on iTunes and I found myself almost hypnotized by Blackfield's sound. I had to buy it. It's like the Alan Parsons Project got violently shoved into the 21st Century.

Blackfield began as a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist and Porcupine Tree leader Steven Wilson and controversial Israeli pop star Aviv Geffen. After years of mutual admiration, the pair met to discuss a set of concert appearances in 2000 and, further drawn together by their similar interests in the classic rock albums of the '60s and '70s, wound up composing their first song under the Blackfield moniker.
