Album Review

Natasha's Waltz is a compilation of highlights from the albums Norman and Nancy Blake recorded for Rounder during the '80s, giving an excellent overview of one of the finest bluegrass and new acoustic duos of the era.

Natasha's Waltz

Norman Blake is a self-professed "hillside musician" with an amazing ability to make his songs sound like he just sat down on your front porch and started playing. With this album we see what he can do when he sits down in a studio with great musicians to accompany him, and it is stunning in my opinion! I play 6 or 8 of these songs over and over and every time the quality just blows me away. "OBC #3" in particular is a musical tour de force, and "Dusty Rose" plus "Third Street Gypsy Rag" will knock your socks off too. My current favorite album and the one most listened to.
