Timing is everything
I’ve been involved, in one aspect or another, with the NY theater scene for 2 decades. In recent years I’d been wondering, what happened to all the seasoned talent? The performers with depth, grace and oh yeah, experience. Apparently they’ve been off maturing as artists. Thanks Disney (not to take anything away from American Idol). Trent Kendall has matured right into his God given gifts. PICTURE INCOMPLETE is a wonderful telling of his struggle to answer a few of life’s central questions, ”Who am I, can I deal with it and furthermore…will you?” If you didn’t catch Trent in one of his Broadway or tour appearances OR numerous NYC cabarets OR enjoyed his wonderful jazz recordings, no sweat. Now is the perfect time to become a fan (if not a collector). His collaboration with Michael Polese, whose music and lyrics are sublimely human, is at the very least thoroughly entertaining, but demonstrates what happens when history and destiny converges on two artists. There are the hilariously poignant poppy numbers like “I Looked It Up” and “Walk In Closet”. “Anyplace but Where You Are” is straight up old school funk. You've got your theatrical winners like"Limited Time" and "Let the Church Say Amen" is one performance that should be archived. The gentle cradling of “The Universe Conspires” is one of my favorites as are the ego effacing “The Other Way” and “Fathers Lament”. If these leave you feeling sentimental, hold on. The showstoppers “Blind” and “Incomplete” will surely prioritize that for you. PICTURE INCOMPLETE is a tour-de-force and a reclassification of the one-man show.
Give me Moe, Moe, Moe!!!!
So excited about this recent release from Trent Armand Kendall, Michael Polese, Onemoe Music and LML Music. This CD has it all. Its great music from a relatively unknown songwriter. Michael Polese has the ability to make you think and feel with his intelligent, expressive lyrics and his beautiful melodies. I've been a fan of his since discovering his solo album Half Way Home. As for the singer Trent Armand Kendall, I have been in love with his vocals ever since seeing him in New York in Bat Boy the musical. What a powerhouse!!! Gritty and sensitive with the unique ability to interpret a lyric. Yes, a fantastic singer very comfortable with R&B, Gospel, Jazz and Broadway, but also a true story teller. My favorites on this album are See, Limited Time, Blind and Incomplete. Download this album and listen to it from start to finish for the COMPLETE experience! I also have found great things on the web about the show that I believe is making its way to Broadway. Check out the hilarious videos on You Tube and go to the site: www.pictureincomplete Kudos to LML Music (www.LMLmusic) for distributing the unique and FAB album.
Trent Armand Kendall's Picture Incomplete is a moving story told brilliantly through music! I highly recommend that you purchase this album and get to know the many characters of this wonderful performer. I heard rumors that Picture Incomplete is now heading to theaters across America and I will be the first in line to grab a front row seat. Buy this CD NOW!!!!
