EDITORS’ NOTES

iKON may have titled their EP NEW KIDS, but this release is more of a homecoming: Both "BLING BLING" and "B-DAY" play to the hard-hitting hip-hop for which the septet initially became known. The former is a boastful banger in which the boy band brags about their long list of successes over regal horns. "B-DAY" is a clever take on living the good life, with the guys relating their worlds to buzzing bees sipping on honey. Fans who enjoyed iKON's 2015 singles like "DUMB & DUMBER" will welcome this return to fierceness.

I'm so happy it's been such a long since I heard new songs from iKON

HIGHKEY A BOP BUT..

NiaGinay

These songs are a f*cking bop but unfortunately I had to give it four stars. If it wasn't for my wig, which I just got yesterday, being snatched it would have been five stars.. But overall, BLING BLING and BDAY had me shook, I can honestly say I'm dead now. (Updated: I decided to give the 5 stars)

About iKON

Along with the likes of Sonamoo and Kyuhyun, iKON were among the pop acts to debut at the top of South Korea's Gaon album chart in 2015. B.I, Bobby, Chanwoo, Donghyuk, Jinhwhan, Ju-ne, and Yunhyeong formed the group through the reality programs WIN: Who Is Next and Mix & Match. All but Chanwoo competed as Team B on the former program and released singles under that name, beginning with "Just Another Boy" in 2013. After Chanwoo joined, iKON arrived on YG Entertainment in 2015 with several singles highlighted by the number one Gaon hits "My Type" and "Apology" and the Japanese "Dumb and Dumber," which topped Billboard Japan's Hot 100. Half-album and full-album editions of Welcome Back likewise reached number one in South Korea. A few singles followed during 2016 and 2017, during which the group completed its first Asian tours. A live album and a couple compilations also preceded the chart-topping single "Love Scenario" and proper full-length follow-up Return, both of which were issued in 2018.
